50% of stalking victims are murdered by their stalkers. It is the only crime where the victim and the perpetrator are known ahead of time. And yet, it is not taken seriously. Often seen as unrequited love or a “harmless” series of unwanted contacts, under today’s law it is hard for the victim to get protection.
